Changes in the amount of bleeding and the length of the menstrual cycle is another of the most common diseases of women. Most women have 24-35 day cycles, but at least 20% of women will experience irregular cycles.

The duration of menstrual bleeding is 4-6 days, and the average volume of blood loss per period is 30 ml, and if it is more than 80 ml, it will be considered abnormal, women who have bleeding frequency less than once every 21 days or more. The most common causes of abnormal uterine bleeding are hormonal disorders or the presence of polyps and fibroids, and in rare cases, cancers of the female reproductive system.

Polycystic ovary syndrome

It is a common hormonal disorder in women of reproductive age. Affected women may experience menstrual disorders, other symptoms of polycystic ovaries include the production of excess androgens and excessive facial and body hair.

Premature ovarian failure

Primary ovarian failure occurs when the ovaries stop working before the age of 40. When this happens, your ovaries don’t produce normal amounts of the hormone estrogen or release eggs regularly. This condition is also called premature ovarian failure and often leads to infertility.

Endometriosis disease

Endometriosis is one of those diseases whose main cause is not known, and in fact, it is a tissue called endometrium inside the uterine cavity, on which the fetus grows, and it is destroyed in every menstruation and grows again after the end of bleeding. In endometriosis patients, the endometrial tissue of the uterus is implanted and grows in different parts of the pelvis and abdomen.

Among the complications of this disease, the following can be mentioned:

-Infertility occurs due to tissue implantation in uterine tubes and their narrowing.

-Severe pain occurs, but this pain is not a sign of the end of the patient’s life.

-Urinary and defecation problems become a problem for the patient.

-Adhesion of pelvic viscera occurs.

-Endometriosis recurs after surgery.

-The presence of implanted tissue on the ovary can cause large cysts and pelvic masses called endometrioma.

It is better to take a detailed medical history from the patients to diagnose endometrial abnormalities. Questions about menstrual regularity, pre-menstrual spotting, post-menstrual spotting, pelvic pain around the menstrual area and their severity, history of ovarian cyst is important in the patient and the patient’s relatives.
